Julia Kuhn
Julia is an internationally sought after chamber musician, soloist, concertmaster, and violin pedagogue. She is co-leader of the Hanover Band, 2nd violin principal of the Academy of Ancient Music, and guest 2nd violin principal with Camerata Salzburg, and has played as guest leader with acclaimed European orchestras and chamber ensembles. Chamber music is a main focus in Julia's musical life. She is violinist with Trio Follia, 1st violinist with the Hanover Band String Quartet and play in a duo with renowned pianist Caroline Oltmanns. Julia regularly performs a wide-ranging solo and chamber music repertoire, covering music from the 17th to the 21st century. She enjoys devising chamber music programmes that show contrasts and similarities between different musical styles and periods, and researches music of underrepresented composers of the 20th century. Julia has taught masterclasses and workshops on both modern and baroque violin in Europe, Asia, the USA, and South America. Julia is artistic director for the St Blasius Early Music Summer Concert Series in Kaufbeuren, Germany. She is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music London (ARAM).
